Finding Zen in the Northside

What have I been up to, you ask? A WHOLE LOT!

I recently found my calling to work on community gardens in the North St. Louis community, and I couldn't be happier with my decision to answer that call. The amount of beauty and growth that I have experienced first-hand, in a matter of only 5 weeks, is indescribable.

Be the change you want to see in the world

First time chat on Nyoombl (pronounced nimble)! I want to have more of these concise 7-minute conversations, I feel we can learn so much from each other in 1-on-1 dialogues like these. Thanks Nate Anton for your interest in Kyle's and my philosophy, your innovative journalism inspires me to take similar action. I enjoy discussing my life with people so they can be inspired to do something in their own personal Universe.

#OperationBeautifySTL

Shortly after our wedding, we decided to re-evaluate our original plans to head to the West Coast. We weren’t able to find a host who was able to accommodate a couple and their dog, and there was no way we would be able to leave our Buddy behind. We decided to take a break from trying to force a plan to work, when obviously the Universe was telling us to do something different.

Growing and Loving

The Newlyweds and their puppy son!
Since the last time we updated this site, so much has happened! For one, Kyle and I got married on 2/25/12! Here we are on our wedding day, happy as can be with our loveable pup, Buddy. We had a lovely intimate gathering of 17 at my parents’ house, which allowed for both of my parents to be comfortable. Since my father is in the progressed stages of his illness, having the wedding at his and my mom's house was the most important priority for us, and we couldn't have asked for a better evening.

Yard-Sharing

Here's an idea for you to ponder: Yard-Sharing!

Kyle had this brilliant idea for a non-monetary exchange program we're calling yard-sharing. Homeowners would allow campers to stay in a tent on their lawn in exchange for some favor from the camper. The camper could cook dinner, sweep & mop, run errands, help build a garden, or whichever task was suited for the camper.

We believe that we have a great amount to contribute, and we hope to exceed your expectations!

Welcome to Labor of Love Revolution

Thank you for stopping by the site!

This is an ever-evolving project based on a global-wide wake-up call for change. We, the founders of the site, envision this as a hosting ground for future ideas and collaboration. We hope to share with you some of the sources of inspiration we've received from others, as well as some of our own insight. We are also very much interested in any advice or input you are willing to give us on our journey.

This blog will document the personal journey of Kyle and me, as we experience first-hand an exciting new spiritual quest. We have decided to test the waters of a life based on the pursuit of happiness. We are abandoning the matrix of reality which measures prosperity based on profits.

We are feeling a real inversion, a turning upside down, as we willingly walk away from our jobs and mortgage in order to better serve others. Making money in the pursuit of happiness resulted in a big collection of possessions that we are now trying to free ourselves from. We are stripping away all our unnecessary goods into just the bare essentials. I've heard, "The things you own begin to own you". You really understand what that means when you're trying to get rid of it all before leaving town.

In the process of shedding our skin, we have been able to give many gifts to others. Some of our books, clothes, or DVDs were at one time great gifts from our loved ones, and it feels good to pass these things onto others to enjoy. We are grateful to participate in these mutually beneficial exchanges, and we look forward to many more of these in the future!
